Hello Readers,
It has been over a month since I last wrote anything. I am sorry! A lot has happen since my last posting. Matthew and I got married and we had an absolute beautiful wedding day. Our wedding ceremony location was breathtaking and we are so happy that we were able to get married there. After all the hugs and kisses from all of our family and friends, we sailed off to the Caribbean for a five day cruise on the Carnival Inspiration. All of our waiting staff were wonderful and even though I am not the cruising type of person, I would definitely take another one and I highly recommend anyone who is looking for a affordable honeymoon/vacation to look at the Carnival Brand. We were so lucky to be able to see the Grand Cayman and Cozumel, Mexico.
After getting sunburned/sun baked, Matt and I were looking forward to coming back home and getting our our lives as husband and wife started. We came home to a house full of wedding gifts, confetti and random odds and ends. Matt wanted to laid down and enjoy our last couple of days off, but I didn't. I am a neat freak and I wanted to get everything organized and settled in. Needless to say, we had our first little disagreement and I was told that I had my panties all bunched up! Now, I think about those words and I makes me laugh. Matt wanted me to enjoy our time together and let the mess be. Time is too short and one needs to be able to appreciate every possible moment. Lesson learned that day, but I am still a neat freak and Matt is still laid back :)
I think that the most difficult part of coming back from a vacation, let alone a honeymoon is getting back into a routine. Especially when you get back on a Sunday, and then the next day you are taking your mom and siblings to the airport for a month long vacation. That was really hard for me because, when you really look at it, I have seen my mom since June 26. I miss them all so much and I can't wait for them to all get back home in August.
A lot of events have happened since our wedding day, Matt's birthday happened a couple of days after we came back and that meant that I needed to plan his birthday gift before we got married. My present this year was a picture frame with a picture of our wedding day and a birthday card. I had a friend, who so happens to be Matt's co-worker and was our matron of honor at our wedding, place the picture frame on his desk with the card, so when he got back to work that Tuesday, Matt would have that special memory always in front of him. In case you are wondering, Matt loved the present and I am so glad that he did.
The other major news that we got came later on in the week on Friday, Matt's sister is going to have a baby. I am still a little unsure how to react to this news because she is young, but it's her life and the only thing that we can do is support her and the baby's father. Besides that, newlywed life is wonderful. One of the things that I would recommend is to not think that arguing is a bad thing. Communication is important in a marriage and if you are not talking and communicating to each other, feelings and emotions are not made known. To all the newlywed couples out there, faith is important. Matt and I are so blessed to have our faith and to be a part of a great church community. Pray with each other and for each other and the Lord will shower you with many blessing, just like he has with us!
XOXO,
Erica :)
